Five years after four supernatural horsemen descend to end humanity, sharpshooter Sara Burns tries to kill Pestilence to save her dying town, only to discover he cannot be destroyed. He takes her captive as punishment, and as she travels with him across a plague-ravaged world, the line between hatred and attraction starts to blur. It's a dark, apocalyptic paranormal romance that pairs brutal world-ending stakes with a slow-building emotional connection between captor and captive.
