A high-heat monster romance novella set in the Cambric Creek universe, following Jude, a werewolf who has never shifted and is sold off to settle her family's debts. Cast aside by her new pack once they learn she's 'broken,' she is left isolated except for Lux, a shape-shifting shadow creature assigned as her silent guard. As the two grow closer during her confinement, Jude has to decide whether to trust the mysterious being who has become her only comfort. It's a shorter, spinoff story rather than part of the main Cambric Creek series, with a darker, more claustrophobic tone.
