Moonsong continues the story of Elena Gilbert and the Salvatore brothers as the group leaves Fell's Church behind to start a new chapter at Dalcrest College. Just as life seems to be settling into a hopeful new normal, students begin vanishing from campus, and Elena is pulled into a mystery tied to her own family's past. Caught between Stefan's steady devotion and Damon's magnetic pull, Elena must figure out who to trust as the danger around them escalates. The book was written by a ghostwriter rather than series creator L.J. Smith, continuing the Hunters arc that followed the original Return trilogy.
