Book 5 of Meant to Be

A contemporary, corporate-world retelling of Mulan in which finance executive Fa Mulan steps in for her ailing father to close a deal with a traditional, male-led whiskey dynasty, forcing her to pose as the company's gender-neutral-named CEO. As she travels to the family's ranch and works closely with the sharp, initially intimidating Shang, mistaken identity, family expectation, and workplace stakes collide with a slow-building attraction. It's a light, humor-driven rom-com that layers Chinese-American family dynamics and gender politics onto the familiar fairy tale frame.
