Fangirl

Rainbow Rowell

Cath is a socially anxious college freshman who has spent years pouring her creative energy into writing popular fan fiction based on a beloved fantasy series, and starting university without her twin sister by her side forces her to navigate new friendships, a reluctant romance, and a complicated family life. The story follows her first year away from home as she slowly opens up to a classmate named Levi while trying to figure out who she is outside of her fandom and her sister's shadow. It's a quiet, character-driven coming-of-age novel about creativity, anxiety, and first love rather than a plot-heavy romance.
