This dark mafia romance picks up directly after The Butcher, following Fleur as she tries to finalize her divorce from her controlling ex-husband Adrien while falling deeper for Bastien, the ruthless crime lord who runs Paris's underworld. As Bastien grows more possessive and protective, old enemies called the Aristocrats put Fleur in danger, forcing Bastien to choose between control and vulnerability. The story is told in alternating chapters from both leads and ends with the couple's bond tested by a new, unresolved threat.
