The Anomaly

Hervé Le Tellier

A genre-bending literary thriller in which an Air France flight from Paris to New York encounters a violent storm and, inexplicably, lands twice three months apart with identical passengers and crew aboard. The novel follows a wide, multi-threaded cast — a hitman, a translator, a dying pilot, a young girl, and others — as they and the authorities grapple with the philosophical and personal fallout of suddenly meeting their own duplicates. Blending science fiction, thriller, and literary fiction, it won the 2020 Prix Goncourt and became an international bestseller.
