Easton Bradbury, a former tennis player turned New Orleans schoolteacher, is trying to outrun a painful past when a heated parent-teacher meeting throws her into the orbit of Tyler Marek, the wealthy, controlling father of one of her students. Their instant, combustible chemistry becomes an increasingly dangerous game of denial and desire that neither can afford to indulge given their circumstances. As the forbidden pull between them intensifies, old secrets from Easton's history threaten to unravel everything just as she finally lets someone in.
