A dark, violent prequel novella to H.D. Carlton's Haunting Adeline duet, told from the perspective of Sibby, a young woman who travels the country with a Halloween carnival called Satan's Affair. Using a supernatural sense of smell, she and a group of men she calls her henchmen hunt down and execute predators who cross her path, while flashbacks reveal the abusive cult upbringing that shaped her. The story intersects with the Cat and Mouse universe when Sibby encounters Zade, and builds to a twist that recontextualizes much of what came before.
