Brimstone is the second novel in Callie Hart's romantasy trilogy Fae & Alchemy, picking up right where Quicksilver left off. Saeris Fane, now thrust into an unwanted position of power after being crowned ruler of the Blood Court, must contend with dangerous new magic, political intrigue, and a deepening, volatile bond with the fae warrior Kingfisher while threats from her old desert homeland close in. The book widens the series' mythology and stakes considerably while turning up the heat between its central couple. It ends on a major cliffhanger that sets up the trilogy's final volume.
