After publicly accusing a teammate of sexual assault, closeted NHL player Troy Barrett is traded to the league's worst team and forced to rebuild his public image. There he meets Harris Drover, the team's upbeat, openly gay social media manager, who slowly breaks through Troy's defenses. As their working relationship turns into something more, Troy must confront years of self-protective anger and decide whether he's ready to live and love openly. It's a grumpy/sunshine hockey romance that also grapples with toxic masculinity and rape culture in professional sports.
