This paranormal novella follows Ethel, a centuries-old vampire, and Lazlo, the slayer who has hunted her bloodline for a thousand years, as their long-running feud gets upended when Lazlo loses his memory after a battle injury. Ethel takes him in under a fabricated cover story, and the forced closeness of caretaking slowly thaws their ancient animosity into unexpected tenderness. As Lazlo's memories begin to resurface, old threats and old truths close in on them both. It's a quick, witty spin on vampire-versus-hunter mythology wrapped around an enemies-to-lovers romance.
