After being abducted by aliens while investigating a UFO, Claire wakes up in a secretive research facility where she discovers she's meant to be a lure for the lab's prized experiment: a scorpion-like alien super-soldier named Thrax. When Thrax's biology causes him to imprint on her instead of obeying his captors, the pair must find a way to trust each other and escape a facility full of dangerous aliens and politics neither of them fully understands. It's a first-contact, forced-proximity story that blends body-horror-adjacent alien biology with a tender, protective romance.
