Blue Is the Warmest Color

Jul Maroh

A French graphic novel that follows Clémentine, a teenage girl who falls for Emma, an older, blue-haired art student, and must navigate first love alongside the fear and judgment of those around her. Told largely through Clémentine's diary as Emma reads it years later, the story traces their relationship from adolescence into adulthood. It became internationally known after being adapted into the Palme d'Or-winning film of the same name.
