Stranded on a hostile alien world after her colony ship crashes, human survivor Amber Bierce must fight to keep herself and her sister alive alongside other refugees. Her path collides with Meoraq, a formidable lizard-like holy warrior on a religious pilgrimage, and the two are forced into an uneasy alliance that slowly deepens into something far more complicated. Blending brutal survival horror, alien world-building, and a slow-burn romance across cultural and species divides, the novel is a sprawling epic about two very different people learning to trust each other in an unforgiving world.
