Set in Regency-era Derbyshire, this standalone queer historical romance follows aspiring archaeologist Elfreda Marsden, who has finally found evidence that Vikings once camped on her family's land, only to lose it in a mishap involving her childhood nemesis, Georgie Redmayne. Forced to team up to track down a legendary hoard of Viking gold, the studious Elfreda and the carefree, nonbinary Georgie slowly turn their old rivalry into something far more tender. Along the way the book explores gender fluidity, Regency-era antiquarian society, and the risks of loving outside convention. It's a lighthearted, research-rich romp with a hard-won happy ending for two people the world wasn't built to accommodate.
