After a humiliating public breakup in which her ex mocks her in the bedroom, driven doctoral student Billie van Buren teams up with her charming, self-assured frenemy, Dr. Maxwell Austin, on a research-style project to rebuild her sexual confidence. What starts as a no-strings arrangement between two people who normally bicker and avoid each other slowly turns into real feelings neither expected. It's a workplace-adjacent, academic-flavored romantic comedy from a STEM-romance specialist, built around banter, vulnerability, and slowly dissolving defenses.
