Isla Lennox, a skilled interpreter aboard an Alliance starship, is sold off along with her female crewmates to a ship of alien warriors after her corrupt captain tries to buy his own safety. The towering, scaled Xaravian commander Vaant has no intention of treating his new charges as cargo, and a tentative alliance between rescuer and rescued slowly turns into attraction. As Isla and Vaant uncover a conspiracy that threatens to tear the fragile peace between humans and aliens apart, they must decide whether to trust each other enough to fight back together. It's a fast-paced, humor-laced science-fiction romance about found family and interspecies attraction.
