A young woman named Macy survives a shipwreck only to be pulled from the sea by Jax, a kraken who has never encountered a human quite like her before. Half-terrified and half-fascinated, she is kept as his prized find while the two slowly navigate the gulf between her world and his. As their bond deepens against a backdrop of prejudice and old wounds between their peoples, they must decide whether love can survive the truths each side has hidden from the other. It's a sci-fi/fantasy romance blending forbidden attraction with world-building about two very different species forced to coexist.
