Everything, Everything

Nicola Yoon

Eighteen-year-old Maddy has a rare immune condition that has kept her sealed inside her sterile home for her entire life, until a boy named Olly moves in next door and the two begin an intense long-distance friendship through windows and messages. As their feelings deepen, Maddy starts questioning the safe, controlled world her mother has built for her and considers what she is willing to risk for a chance at real life and love. The story is told largely through Maddy's diary-like entries, emails, and illustrations, building toward a revelation that upends everything she thought she knew about her illness and her mother.
