A screenwriter named Elle returns to New York City for one summer to cure her writer's block, only to find her new apartment neighbor is Parker Warren, the tech billionaire she had a one-night stairwell hookup with years earlier. To solve both their problems — his need for a fake steady girlfriend during a tense company acquisition and her need to fall back in love with the city for her script — the two strike a fake-dating bargain. As they tour New York's landmarks together, their pretend relationship starts to feel real, forcing both of them to confront old wounds and whether they can trust each other again.
