Nora Roberts

Fiona Bristow runs a dog-training school and a canine search-and-rescue team on an island near Seattle, having survived an encounter years earlier with a serial killer who murdered her fiancé. When a reclusive wood craftsman named Simon Doyle brings his unruly dog to her for training, an unlikely romance begins to grow between them just as a copycat killer resurfaces, obsessed with finishing what the original Red Scarf Killer started. The story blends a slow-building romance with a tense manhunt, all set against a richly drawn Pacific Northwest backdrop of forests, islands, and working dogs.
