A grieving jewelry designer named Gabby travels to a small North Carolina mountain town to deliver her late mother's letter to the estranged grandmother she's never met. While there she strikes a deal with Mason, a single-dad journalist, who offers to help her search in exchange for writing her story, and the arrangement slowly turns into something more personal for both of them. Along the way old family secrets surface and Gabby must decide whether to return to her old life or stay in the place that has started to feel like home.
