In this post-apocalyptic m/m fantasy, ex-soldier Charlie and his friends cross paths with Moth, a prickly, isolated half-monster who reluctantly agrees to help them infiltrate a brutal prison camp to rescue a missing raider leader. As the two travel together across the dangerous Wastes, Charlie's easy warmth slowly breaks down Moth's defenses, forcing him to confront old wounds, a one-sided infatuation with someone else, and his fear of being truly seen. It's a found-family, forced-proximity romance set against a world of monster hybrids, raider camps, and lingering human cruelty.
